Senior Customer Service Manager
After joining Fischer as a Customer Service Representative in 1998, Candi Peterson quickly advanced to Customer Service Manager in 2000. She earned her Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
Candi is proud to be part of the Fischer family and enjoys the feeling of community that they create together. “My coworkers demonstrate dedication and pride in their individual work, while respecting our combined efforts. We provide quality products and stand behind them—communicating honestly, internally and externally. The pay offs are evident in our strong customer relationships, where people know they are heard and dealt with fairly. We truly like our customers and each other.”
Special Order Coordinator
Since 1996, Wendy Winkler has dedicated her career to providing exceptional service to Fischer Paper Products customers. As Special Order Coordinator, she ensures each customer receives her full attention, regardless of the request—from looking up a tracking number to helping with new artwork. “I always refer to my own experiences of being the customer and how I do (and do not) wish to be treated,” says Wendy.
Over twenty years of service has allowed Wendy the opportunity to build strong relationships with not only customers, but her co-workers as well. She thoroughly appreciates the Fischer culture, where employees aren’t treated as “numbers.” Instead, everyone is known by name and every employees’ position is valued and appreciated.
Customer Account Specialist
Susan DeRango is an integral part of Fischer’s customer service team, whose thorough knowledge of the Fischer business continues to deepen since her start in 2011. She’s an expert is customer retention, known for her unwavering customer support and ability to deliver professional and effective solutions in a timely manner. Susan brings more than ten years of experience in the manufacturing and service industries to her role at Fischer Paper Products, where she’s proven an able manager in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
Key Account Specialist
Kevin is one of the most recent hires for Fischer as he came on in 2017 as the Key Account Specialist. Kevin works with strategic accounts to make sure their needs are met. Whether he’s answering customer service calls, speaking with clients, or uploading orders, Kevin takes care of their needs.“Knowing the hard work we do here at Fischer is bringing satisfaction to customers on a daily basis is a rewarding feeling.”
Kevin graduated from Notre Dame in 2013 with a degree in American Studies and had spent the previous four years working in the printing industry. During his time off, you’ll likely find Kevin on a golf course or at a Chicago sporting event.
As Graphic Artist, Joe Gray evaluates, manages, processes and designs all custom bag imprints. This includes setting up proofs, creating hand samples, troubleshooting art issues and modifying the art to meet required printing specifications. In fact, Joe’s 20 years of printing and graphic arts experience allows him to troubleshoot potential printing problems long before they ever reach a printing press—saving time and money.
Joe enjoys guiding a customer’s idea from start to completion. “Seeing a finished bag that looks great gives me a real sense of accomplishment.” He also loves being part of a team of highly knowledgeable, motivated employees who work together to make customers happy.
Manager of Sales & Marketing Support
Sherry Roberson leads the sales and marketing support teams for Fischer Paper Products, and is responsible for customer quoting and pricing development, pricing system administration, customer contracting, RFP process management and submissions, administering customer sales and marketing support programs, and providing samples and other support materials to customers.
Sherry regularly interacts with Fischer employees from nearly every department in the company—as well as customers—and values the friendships she has built over the years. “The relationships that Fischer folks have with customers transcend the transactional. There are several customers that I feel I really know and like personally, even if we’ve never met and live hundreds of miles apart.”
Sales and Marketing
Eric began working as a Territory Manager at Fischer Paper Product on April 1, 2019. His sales background is in the bakery and dairy industry as he worked for Lantmännen Unibake and Upstate Niagara before joining Fischer Paper. Eric has solid experience with both distributors and end-users, he also specializes in broker management.
He has been working in food service since he was in college. He studied at University of Iowa and has a degree from Kendall College. He resides in Evanston and enjoys cycling, yoga, and music.
Keith began his employment with Fischer on May 17th, 2019, as a Territory Manager. Before joining Fischer Team, Keith worked at Dart Container and EBRA Products. He brings a lot of knowledge and experience in manufacturing, distribution and national account sales.
Keith grew up here in Antioch and graduated Antioch High School in ‘91. He played baseball for Antioch High School Varsity Team all four years. He went on to earn B.A. in Communications from University of Dayton, Ohio. He spends his time as a travel baseball dad (12U). Keith and his family live in Lake Villa, IL.
Susan started at Fischer Paper Products as a part-time Marketing intern during her last semester of her college career. After graduating in May of 2018, she started to intern full-time and transitioned into a role of marketing associate the same year. She spends her days supporting Bill Fischer (VP of Marketing & Service), doing market research, managing the company website, working on creative collaterals for marketing and sales among other things. She says she felt comfortable here at Fischer from the start and says, “Everyone is so nice and very supportive of each other. I feel comfortable and part of the team here at Fischer. I like learning and working on different projects everyday with support of everyone.”
Susan graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a minor in data analytics.
Managing all pieces of the puzzle—strategy, people, process, technology, equipment—is an exciting challenge for Josh Fischer. As the President and Owner of Fischer Paper Products, Josh’s main focus is to ensure his customers are satisfied, his employees are engaged and his company is set up for long-term, sustainable success. He does this by setting strategy and performance objectives, contributing to organizational structure and management systems, and building key relationships with strategic vendors and customers. Most importantly, Josh thoroughly enjoys working with the great people of Fischer Paper, especially watching them grow, improve and succeed together.
Josh Fischer began his career at Fischer Paper Products in 2004 as Operations Engineer. In time, he moved to VP Administration, Executive VP, then advanced as the current President and Owner. Prior to his positions at Fischer Paper Products, he served as Sales Engineer and Project Manager at Layne Christensen Co. He earned his Executive MBA in 2010 and his Bachelors in Engineering in 2001 from the University of Illinois – Urbana Champaign.
VP of Marketing & Service
Few know the heart and soul of Fischer Paper Products better than Bill Fischer. Since 1997, Bill has risen through the ranks—from Customer Service to Sales and Marketing. This experience has given him a unique perspective of the business, one that informs his approach to leadership as the current VP of Marketing & Service. “It’s not a traditional title, but it’s one that speaks to Fischer’s brand promise and our commitment to serving our customers with excellence.”
Bill measures Fischer’s success by the positive impact the company has on people’s jobs and lives. This is not only true for Fischer Paper employees (some of whom he’s known for as long as 30 years), but also for Fischer Paper’s partners and customers. According to Bill, “we all succeed together, and getting there is the fun part.” After earning his BA from the University of Chicago and his MA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Bill has dedicated his entire career to Fischer Paper Products.
VP of Finance and Business Intelligence
Jim Sheppard joined Fischer Paper Products in 2018 as VP of Finance and Business Intelligence. As the VP of Finance and BI, Jim will help evaluate strategic growth projects, manage new accounting initiatives, and update technological capabilities. Jim’s excited to be part of Fischer in a time where, “you can see growth potential in a few different areas.”
Jim is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Valuation Analyst with over 30 years of experience in the business world. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Finance from Eastern Illinois University and an MS in Accounting and Taxation from University of Hartford (CT).
Director of Sales
Heidi Herman joined Fischer as the Director of Sales in June of 2018. As Fischer’s Director of Sales, she is responsible for the strategy and execution of national sales growth. With more than 20 years of sales experience in the foodservice industry, Heidi brings a wealth of knowledge that will help Fischer grow. Along with her experience, Heidi brings a collaborative mindset, solution-selling approach, the same core values that makes Fischer a well respected company.
Heidi originally started as a Territory manager with Fischer in 1994. She was responsible for growing sales in the Chicago area and the Midwest, by prospecting and cold calling new customers and managing local distribution. Heidi has spent the last 20 years in the towel and tissue industry in a Key Account and Sales Manager role. Heidi is very excited to return to Fischer in a senior position as Director of Sales and says she’s, “looking forward to doing all of the little things right.”
Manager of Human Resources
Stacey Cameron-Weigand joined Fischer Paper Products in 2018 as Manager of Human Resources. In this role, she will manage Fischer’s strategic human resource efforts as well as its day-to-day, tactical human resource processes. She is happy to be at Fischer and excited to help it and its employees to successfully navigate through its ongoing growth and transition. “Fischer’s history is what made me want to join this team,” she shared, “and I look forward to being part of the team to help our employees build on that in the future.”
Stacey holds a Professional in Human Resource designation through the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) and earned her bachelor’s degree from Schreiner University. She comes to Fischer Paper Products with almost 15 years of human resource experience, with over 10 of those in HR management.
